Football for All

"Football for All” is a project organized and funded in partnership between the UEFA Foundation for children and Tawazon Initiative for Development. Under the management of Captain Emile Rustom, the former Lebanese national Player and Coach, more than 500 disadvantaged girls and boys, from the five governorates of Lebanon are having an equal opportunity to practice football in a safe and professional atmosphere. These kids generally are coming from families severely affected by the economic meltdown, social and political crises that have afflicted Lebanon since October 2019. In each governorate, there is a dedicated well-equipped training center where Lebanese qualified coaches are providing two training sessions and a game every week. A coordinator liaises and organizes the matches between the various training centers.

  • Safe spaces for young players to enjoy football as an after-school activity.
  • Giving children from deprived backgrounds access to structured football training, considering that they are not able to afford existing football structures.
  • Providing safe spaces to practice football and protecting kids from the dangers and unpredictability of the streets.
  • Offering children football training with all its associated values (cohesion, team spirit, fair play, mutual assistance, solidarity), in an atmosphere devoid of any conflicts.
  • Providing young Lebanese people with the personal development needed for healthy integration into society.

Thanks to the support of the UEFA Foundation for Children and Tawazon, we’ve brought joy to 863 children and their families. Here’s how:

  • In 2023 and 2024, we ensured that these young players could practice their favorite sport "Football” in excellent conditions.
  • This year, we introduced two popular activities, Rope Jumping and Hip-Hop Dance - in Beirut.
  • Across Lebanon’s five main regions, 5 training centers welcome enthusiastic children.
  • Former Lebanese Internationals and qualified educators lead four weekly sessions.
  • Encouraging women’s football, we have 319 girls participating, and we’re working toward increasing the number of girls."
  • Structured Training Sessions each week, participants receive four training sessions and engage in friendly matches.
  • Regional Coverage, five training centers operate in Lebanon’s five regions, Beirut, Bekka, South, North and Mount Lebanon.
  • Healthy After-School Activity in a world dominated by screens, the project offers an alternative.
  • Children engage in physical activity, build friendships, and find purpose after school hours.
  • Both girls and boys have equal opportunities to practice football.
